HOOD WOOD is an edition that was produced in 12 copies with French artist Julia Cottin in line with her artistic practice based on sculpting wood. Gathered together in a case, some thirty objects were made in accordance with traditional woodturning know-how, using 15 tree species that are listed in the accompanying documentation. For this first edition, the artist was inspired by the model of construction games for children and drew on her stock of forms (derived from archaeological, artisanal and architectural figures) to define 28 wood forms. Offering a multitude of combinations, HOOD WOOD invites everyone to form and reform their own columns while allocating a unique dimension to these elevations intended to form an art object.
HOOD WOOD is an artistic project conducted in collaboration with Julia Cottin and the Konschthal Esch in parallel with her Forêt de Juma exhibition at the Konschthal Esch in 2023.
